Boredom is defined differently at different places. We do not
know what exactly it is, but we all do get bored at some point in time. Some
people correlate it with not doing anything or an excuse that youngsters use to
glorify their laziness.
But it has been noted that, despite of having so many things
to keep oneself busy, people today feel boredom more compared to the times when
there were fewer gadgets. Probably our minds do not know how to “not do
anything at all”.
Right now I am feeling super bored, though I know there are a
lot of things on my to-do list. But I just don’t feel like doing them at all.
Sometimes, it’s been said that when the task at hand is uninteresting, it’s at
such instances that we feel bored. But in my case I actually like the things
that I am supposed to be accomplishing, yet I feel bored.
At times people who actually have all the affluences feel
more bored, because they actually get overwhelmed.
Probably social media is also one of the reasons. We
endlessly and aimlessly scroll through social media and in the end looking at
all those similar things again and again we get bored. We use the energy we
could have used at better places doing these useless things and end up tiring
ourselves. Also a lot of time is wasted in all of this. As a result when we
actually get to do the required things, we do not have any mental energy left
and we leave the task incomplete.
Now what is the solution to this? Probably not theorizing and
just forcing yourself to get up and just start doing what is necessary, because
it has been observed by many that once you start some task then automatically
you get your interest back, which in turn is a benefit as your work gets done.
Or just starting with the things that you know feel you with energy and change
your mood. So just stop dwelling in this boredom, get up and get going.
